How do you know where to go or where to take your kids for an eye exam?
It is important to choose the right eye care practice for your family. The doctors’ License to Practice Optometry in the State of Minnesota should be clearly visible in their office.
Always choose based on word of mouth – referrals from friends and family and on the practices’ engagement in the community. Why? Because when businesses are engaged in the community, they usually have their community’s best interest in mind.
In our practice, we as owners believe in setting an example for our team in demonstrating how to pay it forward by being a committed member of the community. We happily support every high school team or organization that asks us to, and we do school screenings in ISD279 at no charge to identify kids at risk with undiagnosed and untreated vision issues. We then donate eye exams and glasses to kids whom the iSD279 nurses identify as in need of glasses at no charge.
One of our owners, Jim, visits nursing homes and memory care centers, adjusting and fixing glasses, solely to alleviate the burden on families who would otherwise have to transport their family member to our location. As far as we know, he is the only person performing this service free of charge to those who need it in Minnesota, and he ENJOYS doing it.
One of our other owners, Donna, is a Trustee on the Board of Directors of the ISD279 Foundation, helping raise money for programs in the ISD279 schools that would not otherwise be available to the students.
Jim and Donna, prior to Covid, also initiated EYEGLASS REPAIR DAYS at Osseo High School. Many high schoolers wear broken glasses or none at all even though they may need them. Learning without appropriate eyewear to optimize vision just adds a whole other challenge to everyday learning.
We also support the community thru donations by sponsoring Maple Grove Days and other City events.
Why is all this important? Because it tells you something about the people who work there day in and day out — they CARE, and they CARE ABOUT VISION. About Us
85% of a child’s learning is thru their eyes, so why wouldn’t you want your child to experience optimal vision to enhance their learning environment?
The final reason we think, that is important in who you choose for your family’s eye care, is in supporting locally owned family businesses which is a how to keep more money local. Sixty five percent of every dollar spent in our practice stays in the community vs 5 cents of every dollar spent in a big box store and zero dollars stays in the community when you purchase glasses or contact online. If you enjoy one on one experiences in your interactions in daily life, then it is imperative that our locally owned businesses are supported in every way possible. We do everything in our power to make the eye care experience in our practice memorable, in addition to making the purchases affordable for high quality eyewear, sunglasses, and contact lenses.
Are we the cheapest? NO. Are we the most expensive? NO. Are we the best eye care providers in our demographic? ABSOLUTELY. We guarantee that you will not be disappointed and that you will have a great experience with our team of professionals.
